Dr Marcel Kalau grew up in Perth and completed his medical degree at The University of Notre Dame in 2011. He started his medical career in emergency medicine, paediatrics, and general practice, providing a broad clinical foundation and strong focus on patient safety. Dr Kalau then underwent further training in the No-Scalpel, Open-Ended vasectomy method and has since devoted his entire clinical practice to performing vasectomies.
Dr Kalau is a full-time vasectomy doctor for Aussie Vasectomy Care and has performed over 6,500 vasectomies. He performs more than 50 vasectomies per week and is one of Australia’s most experienced vasectomy doctors. Dr Kalau is known for his meticulous technique and calm, caring approach, helping patients feel comfortable, informed, and at ease throughout their procedure.
During his previous role with a large national provider he received over 1,400 five-star Google reviews from patients — reflecting the trust and satisfaction of the men he has cared for.
He founded Aussie Vasectomy Care in 2026, an independent clinic that is not affiliated with any other vasectomy provider, to deliver a dedicated, patient-focused vasectomy service with modern techniques and high-quality care.
Dr Kalau also has an interest in global health and infectious diseases. He holds a Master of Global Health and Infectious Diseases Intelligence and has contributed to HIV prevention work with the World Health Organization in Geneva, UNAIDS and in Papua New Guinea with ASHM.
Outside of work, Marcel enjoys spending time with his family and pets, and occasionally swaps his vasectomy instruments for power tools while tackling home renovation projects.
