You’ll be made to feel comfortable and at ease from the moment you arrive. You’ll lie on your back on the procedure bed, with the option to watch something on an iPad or have music playing in the background, and a nurse will be there to chat and support you if you’d like. You’ll simply lower your pants and underwear to your ankles, and the area is gently cleaned with a warm antiseptic solution. A sterile drape is then placed so that only a small area of the scrotum is exposed, with everything else covered. It’s completely normal to feel a bit unsure at first, but please be reassured — this is something we do every day, and we’ll do everything we can to make you feel comfortable and dignified throughout.

Dressing and aftercare
A small water-proof dressing is applied to skin, and the wound heals within about a week without the need for stitches. You are provided with clear aftercare instructions and information regarding the 3 months semen analysis. After waiting for 15 minutes, you may leave the clinic, but please wait for a further 15 minutes in your car if you must drive yourself home.
